Moderately priced, the Jupiter pocket trumpet is probably the best choice for somebody who wants a pocket for travel, practice, or band use. The quality is very good, and the valves are especially surprising.  Legit players have found fault with intonation on certain notes.  This example has been stripped to raw brass, but is available in lacquer or silver plate.

As with many pocket trumpets, these can be played to advantage with a cornet mouthpiece (using an adapter) to achieve a darker tone.
